I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
