19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
